tom is a seven years old boy. he goes to school every

day. the school is near his home. so he goes there on

foot and comes back home on time. but today, he is late.

his mother asks him, “why do you go to the headmaster?s

office?”

“because the teacher asks us a question in class and

nobody can answer it, but i can.” “it?s good to answer

the teacher?s question.” his mom says. “but the

question is ?who pours ink on my chair??”

jack is a little goose. he has a lovely hat. he likes

hat. where is it? jack thinks hard. he looks up and down,

and walks here and there. but he doesn?t find his hat.

at this time, his mother comes in. she cries, “oh,

my dear! don?t be foolish. your hat is on your head.”

salesman comes and talks him.

“can i help you, sir?”

“yes. i want to buy a hat, please.”

“of course. how about this one?” the salesman takes

a hat.

“this one is too big. can you bring me a few more

hats, please?”

“ok.”

“let me try this one. no, i think it?s too wide.

what about this one? i like its colour, but i?m afraid

it?s too small.”

“what size hat do you want, sir?”

“i don?t know. but none of the hats is the right

size.”

“the hats are all right, sir. but i?m afraid your

head isn?t the right size.” salesman ['seilzm?n] 售货员
