More people are becoming interested in reducing their carbon footprint – the

amount of carbon they use up. They try to reduce their carbon emissions by

cycling, using public transport or an electric car, rather than driving gas-

guzzling vehicles. Some people choose not to fly to go on holiday because

aeroplanes are the biggest producers of carbon emissions.

You can make ‘green’ choices when buying food too. It’s best to buy food

which was locally grown or produced so that it hasn’t been imported by air,

or transported long distances by road.

Houses can be environmentally friendly too. It takes less energy to heat a

house if it has good insulation and double glazing. You can also create your

own energy if you havesolar panels or a wind turbine fitted though these can

be expensive. You can also save water by using a rain water butt for washing

the car or watering the garden. It’s even possible to use a system where

‘grey water’ – water which has been through a tap once already, is used to

flush toilets. Some new housing projects are being built specifically to be as

environmentally friendly as possible.

With the development of our society ，energy in the world bees more and more

limited ，so it is quite important for us to save energy and to protect our

environment 。As a student ，there are a lot of methods we can do to save

energy at home 。For example ，first ，we can turn off the light as well as

other appliances when we are not using them 。Second ，recycle the waste

water ，paper and other waste so that we can reuse them 。What's more ，it is

suggested to use public transportation more instead of private cars。

Above all ，everyone can make a great contribution to our environment 。I hope

I can learn more to develop new and clear energy ，like energy from the wind

and solar。

What can I do for our environment?

Everyone can do something for our environment 。For me ，I should try to save

electricity in my daily life 。For example ，if I am the last person leave the

classroom in the evening ，I will always remember to turn off the lights 。In

order to protect our forests ，I will use paper wisely 。I should try to use

both sides of paper whenever it is possible 。I will not use things like paper

cups and disposable chopsticks because they are made of wood 。I believe that

doing all these small things will improve our environment and help make our

world a better place to live in。

“low-carbon” has been very popular in life 。We can find it in many

aspects ，such as low-carbon products ，low-carbon consumption ，and low-carbon

travel and so on 。Generally speaking ，more and more people are advocating

“low-carbon” lifestyle。

lifestyle which aims to lowering the carbon dioxide emission in living as much

as possible 。For example ，some office workers are not proud of driving

private cars from work to home any more but pride themselves on riding or

taking public transportation 。In addition ，they advocate recycling water and

saving energy as much as they can。

As college students ，we also make some contribution in our daily life to

reduce the emission of the carbon dioxide 。For example ，switch off the light

when leaving and save water 。In addition ，we should use our knowledge and

action to arouse others’ concern about the importance of lowering emission of

carbon dioxide and lead them to lead a “low-carbon” life。

作为大学生，在日常生活中我们也做了一些贡献来减少二氧化碳的排放。例如，在离开的

As we all know ，the environment around us is getting worse and worse /more

and more seriously today 。Water is polluted ，we have no clean water to

drink 。Many trees are cutting down ，some animals are getting less and less 。

Some factories are pouring dirty air into the sky 。The population is

increasing faster and faster ，resources are getting less and less…etc 。Not

only does it affect our lives and health ，it also has a great affection in

the future 。People’s health has been greatly affected by air ，noise and

water pollution 。Many people died of diseases 。In order to live a better

life ，something must be done to stop the pollution 。It’s our duty to protect

our environment 。We shouldn’t throw away rubbish everywhere 。Trees are very

helpful and important for us 。We should plant more and more trees in order to

live better and more healthy in the future。

If everyone makes contribution to protecting the environment ，the world will

bee much more beautiful 。In a word ，if everyone pays more attention to our

environment ，there will be less pollution and our life will be better “。There

is only one earth” ，I hope everyone will protect our environment well。
